PORT

Performance Online in Real Time

PORT explores the content and narrative of electronic performance with emphasis on generating material in a mediated world using movement-sensitive and real-time interactive software.

PORT is a research and development project exploring the possibilities for developing new performance vocabularies arising from the creation and study of digital image processing in performance. The project explores the ways in which new digital tools modify our relationships to time, space and performance environments, both live and online.

The project focuses specifically on image-processing, and begins with the simple but important idea that the most exciting and empowering performance codes developed in digital form must be set up to enable artists and audiences to interact and create meaning together.
