Tina Keane is an internationally respected artist working in installation, Film, Video and the Digital Area. Her work has appeared in galleries and festivals world-wide, including one-person British Council tours of Australia and Japan, as well as the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Hayward, Tate, Serpentine and ICA Galleries in London. She is shown in Europe at major conferences and festivals as well as in Japan, North America and throughout the world. She is a Professor of Fine Art, Film and Video at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design and is a leading researcher within the College through her work on Digital Creativity. She received Arts Council Lottery Funding for a commission through ArtSway Gallery for projections in the New Forest in October and November of 2000 (a live outdoor event with Laser, Neon, Sound and Video).

Tina is a renowned curator, writer and international conference speaker, and an outstanding artist working at the highest level across a range of media from installation to film, video and digital art. Technology for Tina Keane is an active ingredient, the process through which her work evolves and engages with a conceptual momentum. Recently commissioned was a light and sound outdoor installation for the International Exhibition Expo 2 in Morat Switzerland.

Her research is about the exploration of the cinematic through conceptual space, physical space (street, gallery, cinema) and virtual space (web site). The aim of the work is to present site-specific projects, involving electronic media, to recreate or explore different strategies of production of an IMAGE, a cultural transference, a virtual environment of sense and context, a conceptual cinema, to bring together the notions of place.

Art for her is about defining many different forms of reality, and this takes many types of vocabulary. We are all searching for meaning, to place the physical manifestation of consciousness into a readable form. Can any single form or combination of forms bring us closer to answering the questions, "Who are we?" and "Why?"?

Art is a process--not fixed--a process that helps us to experience...
