Nightscanning
I wish to explore the borders, as well as the blurring boundaries between our definitions of “east” and “west”, “real” and “virtual”, “the inner circle” and “the outer circle”, “isolation” and “community”, and, in the end, “here” and “there”. I would like to explore the position of media art itself as a virtual “elsewhere” construction, a borderless method of overcoming political boundaries in the search for self-identity.
The desire for travelling, or wandering around, is the beginning of a method of learning for a nomad. However and possibly even because of this relationship, after the physical relocation from one’s homeland to “elsewhere”, the fundamental agony of the Third-world woman’s desire for “elsewhere” does not change. Unfortunately, there are no free passports for Third-world women under the so-called ideal of ‘global-citizenship’.
My concept is a dream-recording physical diary entitled "Night Scanning." It is rather productive term than a nightmare. The story is about a lost woman who trying to find her place to rest but she decided to stay as a wanderer like a liquid. I would reflect the story from my weird dream dairy (which I kept for 3 years) where people have multiple heads and they fly through the wall like a film. There are three key scenes in the narrative. >>>>> watch the movie
A) Protagonist on a rainbow street – day dream
B) Protagonist in the flash area – night dream
C) Protagonist in between Rainbow Street and the flash area – in between
